The Granata Agency

The Business of Music with a Personal Touch

NEWS

“Rain drops keep fallin’ on my head…….”

Ah, spring in the northeast, rain, mud, rain, mud and daffodils!

Big news here at the Granata Agency, songwriter and guitar virtuoso Will Kimbrough has asked us to represent him and we are thrilled! The guitar geeks out there will know Will as one of Nashville’s top hired guns who is often on the road with Rodney Crowell, Jimmy Buffett and Todd Snider. But it’s really his own music that caught our attention. A gifted singer/songwriter, his five solo releases are full of catchy hooks and haunting introspective lyrics and oh yeah, stellar guitar work. Will is planning to release a new solo CD this fall, and he’ll be out on the road in support

The Kennedys have completed their move back to Manhattan and are happily redecorating their new apartment, while Maura puts the finishing touches on her solo CD. Expect a release in the next couple months!

Blackie & The Rodeo Kings have started work on their new album, “Kings and Queens” which will feature duets with some of their very favorite female singers. I’ve seen the list of guest performers and this is going to be on amazing CD! Look for it in the spring of 2010

Darden Smith is finishing up work on Marathon, his new musical and the accompanying CD. Haunting is all I can say…………

Stephen Fearing just completed a sold out tour of western Canada and is looking forward to playing lots of festivals this summer (including Summerfest in New Bedford MA). Check out his upcoming feature in Guitar Player magazine

The Refugees and Stonehoney will be invading the west coast in June. Both will be at the 1st annual LA Acoustic Music Festival http://www.laacousticmusicfestival.com/  June 6th and 7th. Check it out!

After 5 succuessful shows this spring, Lee Harvey Osmond will be back on the road with the Cowboy Junkies this summer and fall. Also check out LHO on Mountain Stage in June

Lisa Haley’s Zydekats have been singled out this month. Drummer Maria Martinez is a featured artist in the May issue of Modern Drummer Magazine

Accordionist/keyboards Skip Edwards just finished composing the music for Jonathan Winter’s new album.

A final note:
Lowen and Navarro will be playing their final show on June 6th at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. This will be a special evening with lots of friends and family in attendance.  Words cannot describe how I feel
